Summary
She is described as a person of extraordinary strength of character, with nothing in her life to regret because she carries every decision she makes through to the end. Caring not at all what anyone thinks of her lets her stay true to herself in any situation; the worst thing a person can do, to her mind, is lie to themselves. Even having accepted a magus's life, she holds stubbornly to being an honest one. People know her as the Magic Gunner or Miss Blue and fear what she can do, yet her actual magic remains a mystery. She has a sister as well, Touko Aozaki, who appears in the parallel narratives of Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai. Sisters or not, Aoko is deeply hostile toward her, down to disliking Touko's whole approach to Thaumaturgy. In Tsukihime: a wandering magus whom Shiki Tohno met in childhood. Shiki was still in hospital then, recovering from the accident that let him see lines no one else could and left him with Mystic Eyes of Death Perception he had no idea how to handle. She gave him a particular pair of glasses, the Mystic Eye Killers, to shut those lines out of his sight. The larger gift, though, was a reason and a will to live. Since she dislikes her own name for sounding like Blue Blue (Ao meaning blue, Aoko Aozaki), Shiki settles on calling her Sensei. He has never called anyone else that, which is the measure of his regard for her. In Mahoutsukai no Yoru: a seventeen-year-old apprentice magus studying Magecraft under Alice Kuonji in Misaki Town. Aoko tries to run two entirely separate lives, an ordinary high schooler by day and a magus by night, and Alice takes her to task for the half-heartedness of it.
