Terms of Service

Welcome to CosCat ("we", "us"). CosCat is an anime community where you can follow new seasons, rate what you watch, and write reviews. By accessing or using coscat.com and its related services (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If your country or region sets a higher minimum age, that age applies. If you are a minor, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your account and password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • If you believe your account has been compromised, let us know promptly through our Contact page.

2. Your content

  • Ratings, reviews, comments, profile information and other content you post on the Service ("Your Content") belong to you or the original rights holders.
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, reproduce and distribute Your Content on the Service, for example to show your review on a title's page. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for any part that others have reasonably quoted or that we must keep to comply with the law.
  • You confirm that Your Content does not infringe the rights of any third party.

3. Community rules

When using the Service, you must not:

  • post content that is illegal, infringing, sexually explicit, violent, hateful or harassing;
  • impersonate others, or post other people's personal information;
  • post spam or advertising, or manipulate ratings in any way;
  • scrape the Service's data in bulk without permission, or interfere with or attack the Service.

If you break these rules, we may remove the content and suspend or terminate your account.

4. Third-party data and links

Some information about titles and characters comes from third-party sources such as AniList and IGDB, and belongs to its respective rights holders. Links to other websites are provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for their content.

5. Intellectual property and copyright complaints

Apart from Your Content and third-party data, the CosCat name, logo, page design and software belong to us. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, please send a notice through our Contact page stating what rights you hold, where the content is, and how to reach you. We will handle it promptly.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it stable and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information on it is complete or accurate. Ratings and reviews reflect the views of the people who post them, not ours.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

8. Changes to the Service and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account through our Contact page.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date and version number, and give notice on the Service of any significant changes. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where CosCat's operator is located, without affecting any rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country or region. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
